oh god I think my ears just came.

I'm sitting alone in an office at work (because much noisy video editing is going on in the usual room). I decided to use Pandora for some music... and plugged in the Sennheiser HD 465 headphones that were lying around.

I've been listening to music through the shitty speakers of my laptop ever since the hurricane. I've forgotten what bass is like. I could just close my eyes and sink into the low frequencies with a smile on my face and get nothing done all day if I'm not careful...

Grado SR-60s. Second pair (managed to destroy first pair myself by breaking the cord, a miracle, 'cause they're really durable) but worth even the second $70 purchase. Brought over the foam ear-pads from the first set just so I wouldn't have to break a second set in. Going on six years or so with these, and seriously, I can pick out any frequency range I care to imagine and think, "Damn, that's coming through just fine."

If these die, I'm gonna go right back and buy a third set. I've started considering closed-ear ones, though, so it'll actually be a difficult choice, but there are so many advantages to open-ear....
