From a few days ago, actually. Drawn while hanging out with Ashy watching some Red Dwarf.

Drawn while watching a sort of biopic on Goya.

Drawn during the same biopic. Based on some discussion with [livejournal.com profile] postrodent of a revision of a Puzzlebox character. The mech is stupidly dangerous and makes her more than a little crazy - but she wears bright colors and she has fun! (PS: Have you seen this on the wiki, Rik? It might spark intro plot fragments or something.)

That mech pilot is cool! I love the expression of feline self-satisfaction. Your cat-faces are improving, I think... I may borrow a couple of elements for my new character. And the mech is neat. I'm reminded simultaneously of Zoids and the weirder mechanical monsters from Scientific Ninja Team Gatchiman.

I have some decent mental models for cat faces somewhere. I just never have much occasion to use them until now.

Originally that was going to be a single page, but the scribbles that became the mech weren't imposing enough. So it sprawled... and, of course, quadrupeds are just sexier sometimes!

Especially when they have tails full of BOMBS. A good flick and you could probably toss one or all of those a couple of klicks. I picture it arranging itself in a sort of squatting position, infantry-cats in armor loading up its tail for salvo after salvo. Then, before the smoke has cleared, it roars off to eat whatever's left, crunching broken tanks and dead bodies indiscriminately, smelting it all into more munitions in its steely bowels. I generally like my technological violence a little more removed than this, but this thing is cool. :)

Incidentally, I *thought* the stripey one looked Rezzy-ish, but wasn't quite sure -- something about the ears. Hot, tho. You just want to to collar her up and violate the terms of the Deimos Conventions with her. Rowr.

Any large tiger babes in collars are probably some form of Tigress, this one included. She kinda got squashed up against the top of the page and I did weeeird things with the eyes. I really need to study actual tigers for a day and make my own shorthand.

The tail full of bombs was a bit of an afterthought. "It needs a tail," I thought. "Tail needs decoration." And it was large. And the bombs just... appeared.

It's like some giant feral beast that lives for one purpose: making war. Destruction. And yet this pretty little slip of a girl drives it for her own ends. It's just a game to her and maybe it's been rewird and patched-over so it thinks its all real, even though the bombs only explode into clouds of glitter...

Not only are all its weapons glitter-loads, but when it thinks it's crunching up its defeated foes, it's actually just LICKING them like a giant, mechanized, deathdealing puppy-bot. :)

Hee, awesome! Both the mech and the pilot. Love that expression. <3

If you eventually make that into a colourized image I will love you long time. n.n
And demand a 1600x1200 version for wallpaper purposes. :3

That last one isn't some kittized version of Charlotte and Sophia, is it? That's the first tech/org hybrid that came to mind. Whomever she is, she's so cute! I love the 'dreadlock' kind of hairstyle in the back.

The figure in the background of the top picture is doing something really freaky with xer right hand. o.O

(Oh, and the Graveyard is open/linked for business now)

No, she's got nothing to do with C-S. Though C-S might end up comparing notes; there're some similar mindplay issues going on with this one. I don't wanna go into all the details; I'm not sure how much [livejournal.com profile] postrodent wants to have come out in RP.

What is the beast on the right in the very first picture?

The general rule with my sketchbook scans is that if it doesn't look like anything in particular, and I don't explain it... it's probably just... something.

That would be the case in this one.

Has a mischievous look to her. Why does it seem familiar? Is her aquaintance not only blind, but deaf, too?

Mmm. *ponders for a second and then reaches out and caresses the beast's slick skin.*

The first picture should be "Drawn while watching Red Dwarf at Ashy's hovel."

Happy stuff.
And anthro?? Wassup there (I don't follow yer puzzlebox stuff, so i'm assuming it's overflow) it's pervading your work again!
Missed your doodles, pun intended.

I haven't been riding the bus anywhere, so I haven't been sitting in one place with little to do besides draw. This means less time spent with my sketchbook.

The two anthro pieces here exist for one of the all-too-traditional reasons for drawing the stuff: I'm in a long-distance relationship (aaargh!), and it's one of the ways I can communicate: draw stuff from my lovers' textual imaginings. I sit down to doodle and a lot of the time I end up thinking of them, so the scribbles skew that way.

It is, isn't it?

I think five out of the last six pieces of art I posted are related to this, in some way. Not including a number of quick pencil sketches, some with rapid bits of color via Photoshop, that have appeared in comment exchanges or in e-mail.
