You are 37 years and 262 days old today.

You've outlived Jack Parsons by almost a week. He was a CalTech researcher, co-founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Aleister Crowley adherent. He died of injuries sustained in a lab explosion on June 17, 1952, 20 years before you were born.
- thanks to Dead At Your Age.

I try never to look at these things. They're always people who've done amazingly cool things, whereas me, I'm nothing to this world, I'm shit, I don't like being reminded of that. And self-esteem being what it is, I'm pretty sure that if I had a doctorate and a great job at SLAC or Fermilab, I'd still detest the person I saw in the mirror just as much.

Yeah, there is that view. I try to remind myself that, well, some people get moving early and burn out early; others take longer to start and to finish. I'm gonna be around forty by the time I finish my first stupid graphic novel, and I could be down on myself for not having started when I was **FOURTEEN**... or I can be proud of myself for having done it, and be glad my self-criticism got overridden by endless practice enough for me to do it.

I was just thinking that myself. I got Jimi Hendrix. That was not cheerful.

You've outlived King Richard III by two days. He was the King of England (1483-85) whose revolt-ridden reign was the last in the Plantagenet dynasty. He died of injuries sustained in battle on August 22, 1485, 491 years before you were born
