Today, I went out to Harvard Squid to send another Tarot deck on its merry way. I also did lunch with Rik and Bill. Bill has a new toy to show off: his electrified bike.

I got a chance to play with it before he went back to work. The sensation when the electric motor kicks in and assists your pedaling is really strange; the thought that immediately came to mind was "I know what seven-league boots feel like now".

I have a pile of sketchbook scans to post, now that my brain has decided to remember how to draw again. Gotta finish processing them.

I've always wanted a pair of jump-boots. My self-as-character in City of Heroes has 'em. I fantasise about it: walking normally without any noticeable difference, running with notable assistance so I don't tire, and then the best part... switching them all-on, crouching a bit, and j-u-m-p-i-n-g a hundred metres at a time. Ballistic arcs through the atmosphere. Woo!

Maybe I should try riding a motor-assisted bike....

Yeah, a motor-assisted bike is a low-end version of that sort of thing. It moves when you move. You're still doing it but you're not providing all the power.
