oh god I think my ears just came.

I'm sitting alone in an office at work (because much noisy video editing is going on in the usual room). I decided to use Pandora for some music... and plugged in the Sennheiser HD 465 headphones that were lying around.

I've been listening to music through the shitty speakers of my laptop ever since the hurricane. I've forgotten what bass is like. I could just close my eyes and sink into the low frequencies with a smile on my face and get nothing done all day if I'm not careful...

That crap just peels right off, it's annoying.
That crap is almost completely peeled off the right-side earcup.
The stuff is still on the left ear-cup. It's wrinkled but unbroken so far.
I've had these headphones since Naughty Dog (Summer '05).

It happens (taking much of the bass with it...) but you can buy new pads for them and make them like new again ;^} I think one of my sets are on their third replacement.

You can get the original replacements for cheap...

Or upgrade to the new soft pads!


These phones and their pro cousin the MDR-7506 are kind of standard in the professional audio world, and I highly recommend them as a 'permanent' set of good listening devices.
