This is an illustration I did for the next issue of The Whole 9's monthly newsletter. The theme was 'fashion'. I, of course, went off on some crazy science-fiction tangent.

The Fall Collection

I have cameos by three of my SL avatars, and, possibly, an appearance of Twin. And, as previously mentioned, the Dread Dormammu.

Oh, and this is twice the size it's intended to run at so you can see details. I had fun with them.

Aaaall the way to the right, I'm reminded of a fusion of the X-Men's Rogue (in classic costume colors) with OMG PRETTY BEADS YAAAAY! and fluff(ier) hair.

She has my heart! Or he. Shi. Whichever. I want to follow her around and live in h*(s/r) hairstyle.

My image of Rogue involves skintight green. But I never really read the X-Men, or watched the cartoon. Or the movies. (Was she in either of those?) I was originally thinking a bit of bondage fashion, with shiny light decorative chains between each pair of wrists, but it kinda turned more into beads along the way.

Oh wow, all kinds of glowy and happy. Fishbowl head!

I want to be the robo-spacelion-taur-model in the back! She's so cute!

Somehow, I feel this is the best comment I've ever received on anything.

I have to agree. Putting on robotaur parts for fashion is just MADE OF PURE AWESOME. Plus, the expression of casual enjoyment on her face is perfect.

Ok. Um.. wow. So what I can best say is that it's a damn shame they're running it even smaller than this as it's a real crime. Ideally, this would be more like 6x30. It's a lot of fun, and colors that don't immediately say "PEGGY" to me, either. Love that walkway twirling about back there. Probably a lot more interesting than they were expecting. Really really neat!

At 6x30 I'd have to go in and fix a few cheap-out bits! But yeah, the detail on this one ran away with me.

The colors came about in part because I was told to avoid it being dark and sinister in the initial brief, and in the response to the sketch. So I went with a palette that screamed HAPPY. I know how to do it; I just usually don't want the emotion to be that simple.

What can I say? This is colorful. :)

I recognise two of the SL avatars. So what's the other?

I'm not sure I ever posted any pictures of the fishbowl-head girl...

Wait, you're on SL? Who should Charlotte and I be on the lookout for?

Mechanique Thirty.

Logs in once in a blue moon.

That's weird, because the fishbowl-head girl is one of the ones I recognised! The other being...what, the one inspired by Rez, was it?

No, no, I'm sorry, Rez was a different one. The spirally character I meant. My mind's eye deceived me for a moment there.

Look in the background, just about in the center of the whole thing. The blurry distant bit. It's my riff on Interplanet Janet, serving drinks to the audience!

That is a really fun piece!
I like the black creature with the glowy blue bits.
And the 4-armed go-go dancer.

I'm afraid you're moving backwards in time with respect to me. Is Texas caught in a time warp again? *grin*

What read as a light fixture turns out to be a curvaceous glow-marked bottom. In my life, these can sometimes be hard to tell apart.

LJ posts scroll down from newest to oldest, so my comment regarding the detail shot was made prematurely as it appeared first.

This is brilliant. Yes, I'll take much more of an interest in fashion when it involves a body wardrobe!
