It started to tickle my throat yesterday; last night was horrid. When I woke up I felt like I could crack my head open and extract a perfect cast of the inside of my sinuses in dried phlegm. Is this reverse-time concrud? Hopefully the "infectious" phase will pass before Thursday, so I will not have plague for those I meet at Further Confusion.

anyway, in this half-delirium I ran across a comment I made on Furaffinity the other day and I had to share this wonderful image with you:

Dude, you're trying to anonymously tranny-bash on someone who's half-delerious with a bad cold. Don't you have anything better to do?

also, screened off this anonymous assbag and the interactions with him/her/it. Thanks for the support, those who poked at 'em. Anon comments screened for a while now because shitheads are stupid and I've got better things to do, like drink lots of orange juice and sleep.

If you've got some weird-ass issue with me in particular, Mr. Possibly-English Anonymous Tranny-Basher, try doing it more directly. If you just want to wave your trans issues around in hopes of generating internet drama, then screw off.

Oh man, I love Vaughn Bode. That would rule.

And, anon-commenter can suck my balls.

I suspect there're more than a few steampunky-fantasy designs in modern games that owe a lot to Bodé's contraptions! But something set firmly in his world, with the uncomfortable merging of love of machines, hate of their uses, and sexuality, would rock.

I dunno where idiots like this come from. 86.20.94.25 seems to be in the UK according to a few different sites but there's an endless supply of them, really.

Inky, drippy peggy, hissing and gurgling to communicate while slinging her arms around emotionally, ending up infecting those who try to help her with cooties.

There was talk earlier of sealing me up in a biohazard suit. Despite the fact that the gas mask would quickly become full of snot.

The itchy feeling in the back of my throat started to come on while I was out with you and T' yesterday, too - I hope I didn't give it to either of you!

I thought I'd transcended the cooties. I guess I was wrong.

Plague and pestilence, made easy

Have you tried Oscillococcinum? It's one of those homeopathic things... which really shouldnt work-- since it's basically just over-priced sugar-- but somehow does what it claims to: Shortens the time you're sick, plus making the time you are sick slightly more livable. (it works best if you take it as soon as you think you're getting sick)

You should be able to find it anywhere, but I know that Walmart carries it (around here at least)

I caught the creeping crud from just about everyone at my new job, and the oscillo knocked it back to one week (instead of 2 or 3 like normal).

(I realize it's too late for the con, but something to keep in mind in the future, maybe.)

I just never realize when I'm getting sick because I'm faintly allergic to the universe. I'm always having to blow my nose a bit. It's better than when I was a kid but it masks the first rumbles of a cold or somesuch...

also, YAY INSPIRATION! We can just slouch around the con grooving on HM now and then!

It seems to have spent itself last night and this morning. I'm a little bleh still but getting better.

I do indeed plan to enjoy the con! I plan to behave very badly, in ways appropriate to a thirty-something woman who's faintly well-known in the fandom she's attending a con of. No public bad behavior...

Argh, you too? Does everybody snot up that badly when they're sick/allergic, or do we suffer alone?

There have been times when I've blown my nose until it bled. Several minutes wasted in the bathroom with the tissue paper. And my sinuses were still completely obstructed! I doubt you wanted to read about this at all and I'm sorry, but I just think we both have awful sinuses and I enjoy complaining. :)

I think most people just don't talk about it, really. Not in metaphors that vividly convey how achingly FULL of snot they are.

There's some Kleenex here with redness in them. Thankfully no full-bore bloody noses. But I wouldn't have been surprised if it went that far; my nose gets rubbed raw inside and out when I have a cold...

I guess not! People get squicked out so easily by bodily functions (and I'm one to talk here)!

Well, I hope you're feeling all better and noninfectious by tomorrow. I'd say I'd love to go and steal buy some of your stuff, but I don't think furry conventions are my thing! Anyway, words.

I'll curl up on the floor in spare blankets or something until Saturday or so. I figure I should be uninfectious by then at the worst...

There are no spare blankets. With the temperature the way it's been, there's no such thing as a spare blanket.

Here's how it goes. If I get sick, then I shall direct my sneezes upon your face and body at any time that such opportunity presents itself. You shall be wrangling my used tissues; the instant one is filled with snot, it will be placed in your lap. Should my fingers become soiled, I shall not hesitate to wipe boogers upon your sleeves. Do you understand these points as I have read them to you?

Oh, yes, Dressing up in a full-body rubber isolation suit, complete with breathing mask, was completely without pleasure. Not once did you admire your statuesque, shining form in the reflections leering back at you from every single piece of polished equipment nearby.
