Rainbow Serpent

Not as eye-searing as I hoped. It went its own direction.

[ addendum: decided to stick one of the variants I used for reducing eyestrain while still seeing the overall feel of it in a comment. Color changes everything. ]

Some browsers restart stalled connections automatically to 'hide' server issues. FireFox isn't one of those as far I as know.

And it comes up near-instantly on DA. If it's not in my cache when I view it here though, *F5*F5*F5*F5*F5*F5*F5*F5*F5*F5*F5*F5*F5* until it loads.

I think it's something between you and my host. I just browsed through a good chunk of my site with Firefox and things were fine. And I'm currently using a spotty wireless connection stolen from our neighbors! *shrug*

Hrm... would explain it. I'm guessing it's some broken attempt at caching between here and there I suppose. I thought to try tracerouting, and just after I hit Louis-Erickson-1074854.cust-rtr.pacbell.net I stop getting traceroute replies entirely. I'll poke Ma Bell about it.
