Today I basically won Tomba! - there's one optional event left, according to the FAQ I used, but it seems to take a random amount of time to finish off. And I have defeated the final boss. Then I went out to the cafe and hung out with Nick while I drew... stuff.

Including Muppets.

But I'll start with a Tarot card. The one on the left is probably going to be redone - it's a kinda superheroey version of the 8 of Discs. Except I intend for Wands to be where all the Kirby goes. Oops. That one's been sitting in the sketchbook for a while. The one on the right is the 10 of Swords, from today. The sheathed sword on the ground may be replaced by one in the air above her, that was hanging from a threadbare rope until about .1 second before the image, and is now beginning to fall.

Creepy Muppet redesigns await. )

I'm finally reading the manual for Textmate. I really need to hack up a quick reference card or something so I can start learning some of its shortcuts beyond the obvious ones - it's got a lot of lovely little touches that I need to get out of my head and into my fingertips.

If you have a Mac and regularly write text in any markup language, or any programming language, you really should check it out; it's what I use for pretty much all my web/code work. Yeah, it cost money, versus using one of the several text editing options included with the OS (textedit/xcode/emacs-in-a-terminal-window), but it was money well spent - even without really delving into its power, all my text editing for the past year or so has been really free of worrying about the editor's interface.

Rik has this tape he needs to transcribe for work. Unfortunately, it was recorded on a screwed-up tape deck, and the actual words are completely obscured by terrible wow and flutter.

I know I've heard some stories of hardcore flutter-removal lately thanks to digital processes. Does anyone know of publicly available software for doing this - or is it still all in the domain of in-house tools?

If you know of wow/flutter removal plugins or standalone tools, give us a link - you'll save my boyfriend's sanity!
