The Root of the Powers of Earth.

And the last of the Aces!

If you remember my original sketch, you might be wondering what happened to her cock. It's still there; it's just really, really subtle.

Print available on Artspots.

And while I'm at it... here's the other three Aces.

Digging the mask-face motif so much.

The masks are very cool and the Aces are in fact... aces. That top one, though, that lovely shift of green to gentle blue is really amazing. I hope it's not lost in the printing. One of the dangers of painting in light.

I don't see Wand's wand, can you point me at the original sketch?

Like them all, of course.

why did you make it so ultra subtle?

I just came back to this entry (via the day/date printed in the corner of the image -- this kind of 'connectivity' of your cards to the journal entries where they were created/presented utterly rocks!) to do some color research while fixing a problem. Check your email for details on it.

FYI -- your 'subtlety' worked in the printed version, but you'll have to be careful on how you light it! Lit right, you don't notice the Ace's Wand at all... but stop and look at it under at least halfway decent lighting, and it's definitely right there. Gives you something to find when you gaze at it instead of just glance past, thus removing the whole 'OMG-peener!' effect you were trying to avoid. The only way to force it to stand out is to backlight the image (which still works pretty cool).

And yeah, just for fun, try converting it to RGB then hypering up the green channel and dropping the blacks down. The result is pretty stunning, if not what you intended. Don't worry, found that problem, fixed it. :) But in general your cards do look pretty neat hypersaturated.
