Holy shit, WebKit now supports downloadable fonts. With absolutely no protection on the fonts, which I'm sure will cause shouting and lawyers at some point. How long have

And to give this post some actual substance... let's have a plug for something a friend did that I enjoyed!

[livejournal.com profile] read_alicia's book "Supervillainz' is now available. In some ways, it's similar to what I'm doing with Absinthe: it's exciting fiction about trannies, that isn't about the transition. The main characters are trans, there's a few moments of gender weirdness, there's a supporting character whose gender is pretty much 'indeterminate and it doesn't ever matter' - but nobody ever discusses Their Operation, tells us how long they just knew they weren't the gender they were born as, or does any of the other Standard Trans Narrative things.

Instead, they worry about the brutal self-appointed superheroes who're after them.

I enjoyed it; you might too. She's got some excerpts on her website to tease you with.

(Full disclosure: I did a couple of banner ads for it, and she's a friend of mine.)

Yeah, you can only tell that story so many times before it gets boring. Especially to people who've already told it to themselves.

And I finally used that bookstore gift card I've had lying around for a long time, to order this book. Yay!
