random con thoughts
Jan. 24th, 2007 05:40 pmMade it home this morning, cuddled Rik, promptly fell asleep until 5 or so.
I left Boston with $100 in my wallet and came back with about $60. In the intervening time, I ate a couple times at the horribly overpriced hotel (including several way-too-pricey drinks to keep me going at the table), paid for my food and Nick's both times we went out together, taxied to the airport in San Jose rather than bus or a lift... Next con I will do some food-related preparation and suchlike, and will quite possibly come out slightly ahead. Well, not counting airfare or lodging.
I was too full of a cold to engage in any, ah, extracurricular activities at the con. Just sitting there behind a table doing a lot of serious drawing for people was kinda mind-altering in itself, for someone who's spent so much time curled up by herself honing her art.
That was the best part: giving people their finished sketchbook and seeing them go 'ooh'. That was worth a lot.
Prints next time. Really. And art show stuff too perhaps.
