Every time I look at the upper right panel of the Jack parody I just laugh...

Lovely! I'm especially digging the rooskie dog. Love to see you finish that one. I also have to scan the sketch you did for me. Is there a good email address for me to send it to?

I probably won't - I'd drawn it not too long before we got pulled over by the cops. It's terribly in-jokey.

I should scan that sketch you did too! egypt@urnash.com works fine...

Is something still an in-joke if it's still funny to a casual observer, or is there another name for that? I've always thought of an in-joke as something mundane that has a special private comical meaning, but I notice a lot of times people claim something that is actually amusing is an in-joke because there is a shade or a layer to it that is private that they share with someone else.

Mm. It's a blurry line. This case, well, it is simply a funny drawing, but the circumstances and the story that lead to it and the things it's about are intimate and silly, and not something I want to explain... It's a joke for a small set of people, and it happens to be one that has comedic value in and of itself.

The Odinson deems thy joke amusing! Would'st thou have more Jack jokes 'pon thy pad of sketches?
