So there's this thing over on the Illustratorworld forums called the "Drawing Jam". It's swiped from another art board that I really don't hang out on much. The way it works is that an admin-type posts a random photo reference, and you work from it.

I was in a lazy weird mood, and I actually did a photo-trace type piece for once - grabbed the jpeg, threw it into AI, and just went all weird on top of it. It's somewhere pretty different from my usual stylistic space. I think it took about two and a half hours to go from

this

to this.

Transparency ahoy, many modes. One of the art brushes that ships with the program. Some line blends. Just weird Bill Sienkiewicz/Ralph Steadman chaotic splatter shimmer bubble chamber fooling around.

It'd be cool to do a picture of Twin like this...

It's different, at least. And more interesting than a photo-trace that's only a little more interesting than running the image through Streamline...

TONS more exciting than the original. I love those quiet, large areas of color, and the controlled chaos of lines and steaks up at her head. It really focusses the image and makes it so much more interesting than the photo.

Looking at them backwards, I can now see where you might be going with the later taurgirl pic. Very much neatness.

I love the aggressive little sneer you gave her, and that hand is awesome. Such preeety, preeeety colors. The lines in the sleeve of her sweater are -so- cool; I am never very good at twisting things like that, and I always appreciate it so much when it's done so prettily as here. I find her legs to be somewhat distracting, such a heavy, solid chunk of white.

If you -don't- do a picture of Twin like this, I will be upset! (She) would look fabulous done in this style.
