Beefcake and angst comics fragments. I was going to post these last night, but I was, well, angsty and depressed, and just ate and went straight to bed. I feel somewhat less low now.

Yay beefiness. Looks like I know a bit more about muscles than I thought. I just never use them like this. But staring at a bunch of Jim Smith's barbarian drawings while making an animatic seems to be showing me more distillate-of-beefcake methods.

When I am depressed, I seem to be prone to doing comics fragments that just ooze story hooks. 'Drowning City' came out of depression. So did... this.

Some bits are a little overworked here and there. You can tell I wasn't satisfied with the girl's arms or profile in the first drawing. But the hinted story was interesting enough to show. Those last two full-page images are supposed to be facing pages, by the way, to imply definite connection on what is otherwise entirely a non sequitur. If you can pull your browser window out wide enough, they will be.

*nod* It's me swiping Jim Smith's schtick, which pretty much means me swiping a hybrid of Frazetta and Kirby. Along with some Barry Windsor-Smith, I think.

You're really making me wish I'd learned to draw before starting HRT. :)

Yeah, that's one of the few advantages of not being an early transitioner. One's angst venting may be more skilled. Assuming one's skills are in a creative field.

I think the disadvantages of trying to be thirty and thirteen at the same time outweigh it, though.
