Some of the other projects from the same folks are amusingly geek-cynical deconstructive. Is the 'Prepared Playstation' art? It was exhibited as such, apparently... it's a shame they don't have rom images of '2x2' available, either.

He was a sort of rock star in the new media department at UCLA where a friend of mine's getting a degree. Balldroppings (http://jtnimoy.com/itp/balldroppings/) is very cool (and was also mentioned on Boing Boing not too long ago for the “live” version mentioned on his front page); hopefully it crashes less on the Mac than it does on Windows.
