Damn. I think this is one of the worst jobs of bleaching my roots out I've ever done.

Also: Mildly interesting web comic. Mostly because the main character is a monster girl. Glee!

The story really feels like he started with this cool zebra-demon girl and wanted to have an excuse to draw her. A lot. The story really just sort of flails around. But hey. Claws, spikes, whip-tail and digitigrade legs. I can't really argue with that too much, now can I?

Now you need to attend FC and scare us all with it!

Oh, I wasn't aware you didn't know about Zebra Girl, or else I would have pointed you at it.

Yeah, it's an excuse to draw certain things -- anthopomorphic rabbits among them -- but it's a good excuse. Good enough that I highlighted it for rpgnews.com (http://www.rpgnews.com/zebra.php)...

Yah. I don't really read many web comics; my 'web comics' category of bookmarks contains all of four strips. At least one of which is pretty much tabled for RL, last I checked.

I wholly support anything that is an excuse to draw cute, evil monster girls!

I love Zebra Girl! Well, okay, more because of the art than anything. The story has been getting a little better, but it does kinda 'flail' as you said. The author even makes fun of that sometimes. I'm just in awe of his artistic black-and-white abilities is all.

And demon-girls are cute. Especially in the mirror. :-}

Another web comic that will suck away even more of my morning time! Let's see now, which one to STOP reading...

Fortunately, it's a weekly comic so you're only out some time one day a week. :)

...perhaps, but I've still gotta catch up on 3 years of backstory now! At work! Betwixt customer support phone calls!!!

I pretty much skimmed itl; I didn't try to read every word in every panel. Especially since his lettering's kinda tiny to begin with, made even worse by me running my monitor higher than 72dpi...

...ahhh. I tend to get fairly engrossed in these sorts of things, and I also tend to be the type that runs any monitor, be it 13.5" or 17", at 800x600. Just because it's comfy and 'normal'. (And no, I dunno what I'd do with a 19" monitor... probably 1024x768 or something.)

That could be a problem. :)

I devoted full attention to it, and it still took me an hour or so. It gets much more interesting in the third year, migrating away from its initial silly/absurd nature into something more dramatic.

I like that aspect of it - the fact that it can remain silly without breaking the drama - or dramatic without losing the silliness. Something I always aspire to in my music!

It gets a lot more serious once the actual plot starts up, but not excessively so. I think it works a lot better when it has an actual story to tell, instead of Zebra Girl just making the guy burst into flames when she gets mad. :)

I think most any comic works better when it has a story to tell. *grin*

When I consider it, this approach makes a lot of sense... spin your wheels a little while getting a handle on the style and the mechanics of it, and building a solid reader base, then put the thing into full gear later when it's nailed down and you've got some peoples' attention!

Of course, Joe's probably really just making it up as he goes along...

Oh dear, you were right! The bastard - he used silliness to lure me in, and now I'm inextricably hooked!

I just hope this doesn't go downhill, like 'Sabrina Online' did...

Digitigrade legs are ever so sexy when done well!

Or at least they are to my xenophiliac sensibilities.

She could stand to be a little spikier, though. *grin*

I spent the entire afternoon yesterday reading the archives, Sandra's journal, cutting room, etc. Now I'm thoroughly inundated with Zebra Girl. :D
