I have this desire to listen to something that is kind of musique concrete but is also perky and upbeat - most music built around non-musical samples is kinda dark and brooding. I'm also not looking for aggressive turntablism; I enjoy that a lot but it's not the mood I want. I'm kinda hoping for "whimsical" rather than "danceable" or "foreboding".

It doesn't need to be entirely non-musical; I just want to have some strong concrete elements in something happy.

Any suggestions?

So I was playing with this cute little limited drawing app called Scribbles.

Interesting bits:
- Funky, minimalist interface
- Internal vector representation of pseudo-natural-media strokes for infinite scalability
- Canvas rotation (I WANT THAT IN AI SO BAD)

Not-so-interesting bits:
- No way to export that vector data as vector data
- Funky interface is at the border of 'too limited' (though it does have layer support)
- No way I could find to say "okay rotate the canvas to 0ยบ now"
- Saved files have a crude stick figure icon instead of a cute little preview which feels... kinda insulting.

Some of you who (a) have a Mac and (b) like doing digital "real-media" stuff might get more out of it than me, though I think most of y'all who meet those qualifications are already into the much more powerful and only $10 more ArtRage. Me, I play with these kinds of tools, and then I just go back to Illustrator - after ten years I just can't imagine doing serious work without some of its features, unless I'm doing it in the real world.
