bus doodles

This one looked better before I tried to put dramatic shading on her face. I need some time working from reference before I can do dramatic facial lighting off the top of my head. The pose doesn't quite work either. But I like the overall feel anyway. Not based on anyone on the bus.

Testing some theories I'm working on of noir composition. Thinking about both how it'd look as a still image and in motion. Hand pose needs work but I might take this into AI. Also not based on anyone on the bus.

This one was not based on anyone on the bus either. I have no other comment on it.

Date: 2003-06-12 09:37 pm (UTC)Because of the size of my window, I saw the first one only from the waist up and thought it was going to be a bird's eye looking down. The pose works ok, it's just fascinatingly bent. Also, the shadowing looked initially like a handlebar moustache.
Great characters, all in all. The bus is good for you.

Date: 2003-06-12 11:16 pm (UTC)The slide happened because I was thinking about a guy in shadow with his face lit by lighting a cigarette. I was looking off into the distance trying to decide where to set him when the bus passed a school. "Playground!" I said to myself. "Bad things goin' down in the middle of the night in a happy little playground!"
Contrast is so much fun.
