Monday, I went out on the back porch for the first time in ages. And I drew. Here's some of the bits I liked.

The night before, I was playing Kalinda on Taps and she grew a bunch of feathers for no obvious reason. Sorceresses, go figure. The image was still kicking around my head so I played with it on paper. I feel like really getting this right might require referencing some Mardi Gras Indians - though that might be a bit too ostentatious.

This is on a piece of illustration board - sometimes I wish I had a bigger scanner. Last I looked there was a serious price jump once you left the letter-sized ones, though. The signature's a bit of a tip-off as to who I was consciously emulating while drawing parts of this, though I edited out a few really obvious nods to Hirsch as it turned into something that wants to have solid colors.
