Today, I did something that made me feel Grown-Up, and not necessarily in a good way: I put "HAVE SEX" on my calendar. And invited one of my husbands to this event.

I also got two pages of pencils of Absinthe done, and just laid out a third. It's a page involving Absinthe fleeing a tense conversation; I decided to make the first panel larger than my thumbnails had it to create a sense of space. Since Absinthe is the one with the comic named after her, it only makes sense for the panel layout to reflect when she feels hemmed-in, right?

But mostly... I scheduled. Sex. I feel old. Or maybe just busy. Yeah. Let's go with "busy".

you are not old until you start attempting to schedule said sex on a particular day of the week which enables you to use a senior citizen's 10% discount coupon, plus a free soft drink

And even then, you're not old until you start scheduling bingo instead of sex.

What if you conflate the two?

I got a ways to go, then.

Someone I know has considered using Google Calendar as a bondage too. Scheduling events along those lines could be quite kinky in the right mindset.

Do you know any more? I'm dreadfully curious as to how that works. I'm a scientist I must know these things.

The thing that immediately springs to mind is giving someone else (that you trust and have negotiated with write access to your calendar. Then they can put an event in, and when you check your calendar, you get something like "Get milk over lunch break, finish cutting out parts by 5:00, and then at 7:00 there's 'tied to a chair and caned'. Hm. I don't remember adding that, but I guess that's my plan for the evening."

If you're into public scenes, make the calendar world-readable.

I too am a scientist. I will have to run some experiments.

I would assume one could use Google Calendar as a hypno tool too, if you're careful enough to set up the right words beforehand. You could even possibly make it look legitimate.

There is worse than that.

Well ok .. certainly to schedule sex .. is something.

But there's "worse" than that, for example I believe you really are older when given a list of things you really love to have and do and makes you happy you begin to ask yourself first "how much that is going to hurt me if I do that ?".

And in that list, there's sex too.

And it's not really much about "wisdom" or that "crap", it's really that you KNOW that "if you do that you REALLY are going to hurt yourself", I try not to think once I had 4 times the hair I have now.

Problem of living a certain ( geek ) life ( well, more than a "problem" is simply "a consequence" ) is that time is not any more measured in any "common human terms".

You range very easily from nanoseconds and clock cycles to years, hours, days, years .. they all vanish and melt and get confused .. it's not anything about "how many years" it's more about "how many projects you worked on you are working on or how many bugs you managed to fix".

You really don't feel the time of your life passing .. I mean you really are too busy doing things to even care or measure it, unless you have a deadline and you know "that job HAS to be ready for that time".

You don't care about time, old or such .. you always feel "you are increasing your knowledge and skills" the more you work on things, part of you at times would like this never to stop because there is no stop, there is no end, there's always some new piece of code or application that could come out and you'd like to see it working as you think it should.

But yeah sometime the only thing that reminds you a bit about time is your own phisical body showing you "it's not precisely how it used to be".

Favourite song of the moment : "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger ".

Some friend of mind says "no, that song refers to sex" .. I am maybe too sick to realise it then, because I can only see it about working ;)

Don't schedule sex, "be free" ;)

The only things you can regret in life are those you wish you would have done but you did not maybe because you were "too busy" for.

At times I think "I should have had more sex" .. maybe ;)

This sex should start with a powerpoint presentation outlining some of the positions and ideas that may be used during the encounter followed by a paid motivational speaker and a group hug.

OK, congratulations: you made me laugh out loud and then I had to make up something funny to explain it to the family. Best damn mental cartoon ever, though. <3

Scheduling things can lead to ritualizing them. This is not always a bad thing!
