In my dream, I learnt something new about my father's death. He was born with some kind of lung problem that required mildly heroic measures to make him live. And when he died, it was partially my grandmother's fault - there was something she could have, should have done, that she absolutely didn't do.

As far as I know this bears no relation to reality. It was a blood vessel in his brain breaking that did him in, not anything to do with the lungs.

In the dream, my mother and I went to confront Mina, my grandmother. And, for some reason, Aunt Lee was there too.

(Lee was Mina's sister. She died a year or so back. She used to live next door to Mina until she fell in the garage and broke her hip; Mina vaguely heard her calling for help and did nothing. A day or so later Lee's son-in-law showed up to visit and found her, got her to the hospital. She went to live where my cousins could watch her, after that.)

Mina didn't have anything to say. Lee, on the other hand, was chewing on her necklaces - one got pulled out of her mouth at one point, a long one that was clearly being drawn up from inside her - and was burbling incoherently. There was something about this old lady assassin's guild, something straight out of a bad James Bond movie.

Then I woke up. It was cold and raining outside.

I want to write this off as just another bad dream; I always have bad dreams when I'm cold and asleep. But I never dream about any of the people involved in this one.
