[livejournal.com profile] foxgrrl has been slowly going through her con photos and posting them. I would just like to point out one set she posted recently that has me glowing in front of a UV light in a mask. There's one shot of that at the beginning, then a few more close to the bottom, after a trip through the dealer's room.

One of these days I really need to put together a costume designed around that sort of creepy UVness with a mask I design myself.

(The past few days have been her con photos, some of which are pretty interesting in both her editorial choice and in the content.)

I should also mention the result of me wandering by [livejournal.com profile] tugrik's photo area one day. "Get up in front of that backdrop!" he told me. "I want to use that dress for checking my color correctness!" It was, indeed, pretty eye-searing. I ought to dress like that more often.

I saw the results of said photoshoot- they came out really nice. :)
I wish Tugrik would come photograph Furry Weekend Atlanta, I need some pro photos of my costumes.

If they're willing to cover his ticket, lodging, and the over-weight charges for all his photo gear, you never know!

You look pretty! And pretty cool! And mysterious! And a little creepy (only WITH the mask)

I can never tell without it. With the mask, it's deliberate, and cool. *grin*

That blouse probably could've been the core of a decent "Bond girl" kind of outfit, if I'd actually had time/finds to find the boots to make it work.

Masks—I hate masks. Borderline on phobia, I think. But the hair, I love the hair. Lovely, lovely UV hair. You have my envy. ♥

Those photographs make the furry convention look odddly less frightening than the anime convention I once attended. Which is weird. :)

Masks are more fun to wear than try to converse with. Putting one on creates some interesting social gaps to play with - you can put on a persona with the mask, and in some contexts that's perfectly acceptable, even encouraged.

The hair is the result of bleach, and of Special Effects "Atomic Pink". It's one of about four colors of theirs that's UV-reactive, and this quality is probably part of why I keep returning to it. I like having hair that reacts to black light, even though it's so rare for me to be under that.

I've wanted or some time to dye my hair purple with bright pink highlights like my…furry avatar, if you will. I think it would be insanely awesome to use something like that Atomic Pink for the highlights so bits would be UV reactive. I own a black light (though it's currently at my girlfriend's house). Which means I could theoretically enjoy the effect any time I wanted. :D

Various aspects of my current situation mean I probably won't be doing something like that until I'm at least out of college, though. So I guess it's something to anticipate excitedly. :)

Now you know MY FACE. Or something.

Well, I knew your face before... it was the MASK that threw me off. Which was the point, I guess.

*grin* yes, indeed. Nobody commented on the shirt but it was definitely appropriate to the con!
