Remember that open-work avatar inspired by "Rez"?

Sure you do.

I finally got around to revisiting it.

No, this isn't snapshots of a whole bunch of variations of it.

That would be easy.

Instead, I built a color-change/shape-change script. And a HUD attachment to control this. Right now you can select between a rainbow of colors, and choose 'filled with black' or 'wireframe'. I'm debating if I want to bother letting you choose the fill color, too.

I'd like to offer a color wheel, but I don't think this is something that can be done in SL without major pain.

Maybe I'll actually sell this or something, once I've cleaned up the UI a little.

I really miss that game... I wish I could play some of those PS2 titles on PC, or find them someplace.

Rez isn't too hard to find on ebay, and especially with the PS3 out, PS2s are going to go way down in price.

I actually just bought Rez (and an attachment) as a Winter Avarice present for myself. Both off of ebay, neither particularly expensive. Of course, that means I have to wait another month before I can have it...

That's really cool. I'd be tempted to pay for an avatar like that. (I wouldn't, because I'm a total cheapskate, but I'd sure be tempted.)

I saw you next door but it looked like you were working so I didn't pester. Nice work! ^-^

*shrug* I was polite and conversational to a random who passed by when I was working on this yesterday; I'm sure I would've been happy to say hi!

Beautiful. I bet you could make a killing for yourself in SL if you put your mind to it.

There's a market for really weird avs, but I wonder how large it is. Whenever I go out I see a lot of exaggerated normalcy, mixed with video game characters.

Someday I should stick some stuff in a vendor. I have the Cheshire Cat packaged; this Rez av is pretty much ready for someone who's not me...

You definitely should. I know folks who make a decent e-living off of avatars not as nice as yours. I mean, all I sell is lights and glasses at the moment, and I've still made over 200 dollars US in the last year. :)

Try it anyway! After all, if we all pander to the desires of the masses, Britney Spears would be the only thing on the radio.

Wow, very impressive. Also, I had no idea you were in SL. :)

About a year and a half since I first logged in. And probably an average of twenty hours a month, at most. See here for all the LJ entries regarding it, mostly with pics of the weird avs I make.

I'm doing my bimonthly 'log on, work on an avatar, then realize socializing in SL is nigh-impossible for me and go back to other things' schtick.

That's really neat!
I love all that wireframe/vector/polygon/abstract/TRON jazz.

set it to change on it's own, using your location coordinates to determine colors and or wireframedness, etc. :) then dance around and watch the show.
