Seventh Hunt
The sketchbook page had "[hunter's moon]" scrawled on the top, and that's the file's name, but that felt a little too generic and well-used for the actual title. While this image has its own merits, I mostly ran it through Illustrator as a methodology test for 'Drowning City' - I spent some time playing with production methods today. Trying to get myself going on that again. Oh so close to actually starting.
This was done pretty quickly, using the same midtone trick I used in the 'Needle' piece. It's all tints of one global color swatch, mostly done with the pencil tool to keep it lively. I think this might be an adequate compromise between the loose, painterly look the thing has always had in my head, and what I can actually produce on a regular basis. Dunno if I'll use color like this to set a mood or keep it all grey. It's a grey story.
