Yesterday, we went and hung out with
somnialcat and
zenmouse. We went out for dim sum, bummed around central Boston for a bit, then ended up back at Bill's place talking and watching video. "Cube Zero" was amusingly stupid, though I covered my eyes during every gory death scene - my tolerance for that has gone way down, if I ever had much of one,
After that, we watched a tape of some 'Rocko's Modern Life'... and I started drawing. Weird cartoony things kinda inspired by the look of the show. And then just other randomness, once that was over. I'm never a very good guest; I'll just fall into my sketchbook most of the time.

Rocko is really in the same design zone as Peter Bagge's stuff. Cartoony stuff, with features pushing way off of the heads they belong to.

Motion smears would turn out to be one of the themes of my drawing this evening - but on the other hand, they often feature in my sketchbook.

Very Bakshi.

This one appears to be a distorted giant monster Bugs Bunny stomping through the forest.

Back to the eighties, damnit! I only pulled about half of the Rocko-watching doodles; I'm really not used to drawing this way and a lot of them fell apart.

I think this is about where the cartoons ended and we switched to some very weird music for a little while.

Sometimes Difficult Music puts me in a spiky, Strangewarp space. At least one of these is one of the facets of my nasty character from Puzzlebox.

'How Moglidani', I thought after finishing this.

There's more, but I should be working, not doing this, and they're mostly double-page spreads. And our newly-acquired net is running like crap right now. So, later for that.
