Unmemoria

Sosael became Atazael, over time. At first people thought she was saner. They were wrong.

The background is lifted from something I did to a picture of me [livejournal.com profile] rayjaysuyin drew. I started to do it up in Illustrator but stalled out.

Obviously I approve of gears in any context...

I think she comes out of some of the same places in me that Gearworld comes from in you. Maybe.

Not good places. Not at all.

Do not make a pass the pretty butterfly girl, no matter how lovely she may look.

If she kills you, it means she likes you. Especially if she does it slowly. People she really likes kill her back.

Maiming and mutilation may or may not be an indication of friendliness.

She seems more interested in laceration and bladed things that bullets and lead slugs by the sound of things.

Approachable bodies are just snare traps perhaps.

Oh, definitely. Bullets and slugs are so impersonal. A knife, your own claws or teeth, now that's fun. Subtle infestations that take time to blossom into their full nastiness, seductions and corrosions.

She's from Strangewarp. She was starting to claim to be a public face of the entire overconsciousness of the Strangevirus. What do you expect?

At this stage, sometimes she was actually coherent for a little while after someone died.

I expect to be surprised every time... until I can sap up an inkling of understanding, which is unlikely!

There are very complicated things going on with her legs and wings. It's beautiful.

This is, like, the first picture I've ever done with colors mixed in the color palette. Usually I'm all about the global swatches. The shading in wings and legs is just ad-hoc color slider stuff.

And, of course, a radial blur, but that's kinda obvious.

Wow

Thanks... and glad I could inspire you!

I was egogoogling, you know? I do that now and then. I don't remember offhand if the gears were in your drawing or not.

I was kinda weirdly embarassed about having someone do fan art of me!

Yeah, there were gears

I don't know if I meant it as fan-art... I just needed to get it out of my head.

*Isn't a stalker, REALLY!*

;P

Yea, I found the original image. Gears indeed. I did stuff with the arms emerging from blackness, and the like - the darkness on the bottom and top of this came along with the gears.

Some things just need to be drawn; I understand that. A certain percentage of my art comes from that.

Lovely. The composition is terrific, with her light figure against the grinding dark background. I can read all kinds of plotty stuff into this image.

The original sketch had her layered interestingly over her catsnake lover Meliaam, but I wasn't happy enough with that part of the drawing to work on it. The layering was more of a collision of doodles than anything intentional, too.

In fact, the modish raccoon I drew on the plane home was kind of intended to work in this image, but it ended up as something I'd rather do up on its own...
