Hey, Boston-area folks: you can get schedules and a route planner for your PDA! Woo. Wicked. Available for Palm and WinCE devices. Time for me to finally get around to installing that ugly-ass Palm sync software again so I can dump this on there.

(Note: they offer all these separate files to download, but you probably just want to look at the bottom of the download page for the "MTBA.zip" file. At least they did for the Palm.)

Addendum: also try Métro, which may offer better route-planning. And covers a lot of different cities.

Anyone interested in this might be interested in Métro (http://nanika.net/Metro/) as well.

I'm having lots of Adventure(tm) trying to get pilot-xfer working under OS X. (It's supposed to Just Work, but we all know how that goes.)

Yeah, I got the hideous Palm Desktop thing installed and it's being grumpy about synching. I didn't let it reboot like it wanted to, mind you.

Mm. I shall check out Métro, too.

Warning about the OS X Palm Desktop - It tends to occasionally mangle/forget odd information placements in your apps (ex: Long, non-numeric entries in number fields, or notes attached to dates) - Palm bought a third-party desktop application, and kind of mashed Palm integration into it. Unfortunately, it shows.

I've never had that happen. I kinda don't do Weird Things with my Palm, though; this is the first time I've installed anything on it in ages, as a matter of fact.

The Palm Desktop app was ugly waaay back on OS9, as I recall. It only looks worse now. Maybe I'll try and figure out how to sync it with the Mac's address book/etc someday; I've never bothered. Though then I have to figure out what to do with its notepad data and how to get the odd data file on. It's not high on my to-do list, really.
