I agree. Being decorated with blood is one thing, but menstrual fluid isn't just blood... there's tissue and hormones in there, and it stinks.
That right there is the major turn off for those of us in the know: The smell. (For those of you who have never smelled estrogen, think "tangy excrement". Sure, you're into some "interesting" things, Peganthyrus, but you'd have to be seriously f'ed up to want to wear that stuff... or be around anyone wearing it.)
Admittedly I haven't gotten a good whiff of menstrual blood - none of my womb-owning lovers in the past were comfortable being sexual when they were bleeding, and I was a lot less cheerfully perverse in the past. I will admit that there may be tactile and scent components to the stuff that make it a wholly unpleasant experience.
Would it be entirely vulgar of me to state in a complete stranger's comment page that I have half a bottle of the stuff under my sink as we speak? (It's for nothing kinkier than plant fertilizer, but still.)
Refer to blood_art. Most of it is abstract and on ceramic or paper, but there's doubtless some body art. I'm pretty sure it used to be at menstrual_art.
I still think it'd be hot. Despite the fact that the properties I hear reported for menstrual blood probably mean that it'd be a frustrating thing to paint with. Nobody likes glorpy paint.
IMO, I think UV paint would be neater... But only if you use the right lighting - (See the UV-705) (http://www.altmanltg.com/ProductDisplay.aspx?sectionID=2&categoryID=9)
Also, major points if the runes actually DO something, or if BOTH participants have been given posthypnotic suggestions that they will - More points if elaborate props(Ancient grimores, abstract video projection overlays, etc...) are supplied. :)

I'd need to have taken my usual painkiller cocktail and have a heating pad nearby to be even remotely capable of feeling erotic, but the idea doesn't squick me; I find the combination of art and sex intriguing.
Yeah. The actual implementation depends on how the canvas/paint source feels about arousal in general during the appropriate phases. It'd require someone whose mood tends towards 'horny' rather than 'don't touch me'...
