dubious hair experiments

So my yellow-and-purple hair was starting to fade badly. It had a certain something, but it was way too pale for my taste. I refreshed the yellow dye, then splurped some Electric Blue down the sides and back.

It didn't really work very well.


Yes, I went out in public dressed like that. The photos don't really capture the eye-searing contrast of the orange-black striped tights against the vivid blue dress... Eating a bright blue Otter Pop seemed like the finishing touch. Even though it was vile. I'm probably going to bleach the yellow-blue-greenish out and go back to pink. Maybe see if the blue lingers; it could make for a nice gradient.

"You look like an alien whore", Sammi just said upon viewing those photos. Yeah. All I need is some magenta body-paint...

It just didn't feel like me. The darker stuff on the sides looked... bad. It started to look better as it faded but it wasn't working for me.

Maybe I'll go back to pink tomorrow. It's bleached out, right now.

Strangely, I like both the slightly-washed-out pink and yellow and the blue/yellow. The former looks like a deliciously alien version of comparatively normal hair, and the latter looks like the offspring of Chrissie Hynde and a character from a particularly bizarre 1980s cartoon. Both of which, needless to say, I quite like.
Also, you look like you're having such a good time in LA. If in a slightly Hunter S. Thompson way.

The two Hollywood photos are from before fatigue, hunger, commercial overstimulus, and heat combined to produce the Fear so yeah. I was having fun. Just after the Scientology sign photo, a guy stopped me and Sammi so he could take a photo of us for the folks back home. Little did he know we were actually imported Bay Area queers, instead of authentic local color...
