There is glitter everywhere in the bathroom.

When I finally crawled out of bed after last night's events, it was to biscuits. And curled up there in the chair eating them, I found myself watching "Velvet Goldmine". Which is... infectious. It's a movie about, well, Glam Rock. Starring Eddie Izzard as a thinly-disguised parody of David Bowie. With a really hot male-male kiss.

Then a silk shirt came out of the closet. A golden silk shirt.

Sammi and I ended up driving over to Ashy's place with glitter in our hair and bizarre, overdone make-up. It was surreal. No photos; you'll have to trust me.

and now I'm hiding in bed not watching a terrible dub of "Misfits of Science" with Bruce and Julia and still-bizarrely-made-up Ashy because I'm just tired.

Last night? I went to a party. Unfortunately it wound up being mostly full of the host's very normal relatives instead of bright bizarre geeks. I felt outnumbered. The highlight was probably arranging the magnetic poetry on the fridge into a weird sentence that involved the word "Twin"; this amused me more for its in-jokeyness.

And I got cornered in the kitchen by a kid who halfway clocked me and was... weirdy fascinated. I felt oblique so I didn't give him too many details. I wasn't in the mood to go into the whole thing.

Weird weekend. It was good to be well out of the house yesterday, at least.

PS. I just pulled my panties off in preparation for sleep and looked down. There's still glitter on my genitals from when glitter hairspray got aimed down my pants. There's glitter everywhere in the bathroom.

PPS. Sammi's description of the night and various faces; Ashy's.

Aaaactually, Eddie Izzard plays the sleazy agent. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays the thinly-disguised David Bowie. :)

I mean, I'm assuming "infectious" is good, so I'll grab a copy!

I am curious how much of that movie is biographical.

It's very loosely based on the lives of David Bowie and Iggy Pop. Very. That is to say, major events from their lives were taken and built into a framework upon which this other story could be hung. It's not a biopic, nor is it meant to be. It's about David Bowie in the way that Apocalypse Now is about Vietnam: it's just a setting for an essentially unrelated tale.

How many people can say "There's still glitter on my genitals"?

Not very many.

I just checked. There still is, a little, despite me showering when I got up.

I've heard about Velvet Goldmine before, but okay... one look at the cast and soundtrack listing and I know what I'm renting next movie night.
