bus doodles

From yesterday, actually. I have no clue how to actually draw a wing. I was trying to do markings reminiscent of a pigeon, but I failed. My apologies to those people with part-bird avatars, should the vague suggestion of pattern be reminiscent of the one on your own wings.
The head sort of came from an old woman on the bus, except I gave her a lot flatter cranium.

From today. I've been too lazy to carry a binder of CDs lately; I've just been having one disc in my player. Today I switched it; I'd been listening to Add (N) To X's 'Loud Like Nature', but decided on Information Society's 'Don't Be Afraid...' instead. I think the change in music affected my scribbling.

Said album is also one of the ones that puts my brain in the right mode to think about 'Drowning City'. This is dredging up the old design for the queen of the water fairies and playing around, trying to keep the original graphic simplicity but adapt it to my better drawing skills. This is a failure; she's supposed to have a cold beauty to her that I lost in too much detail.

Wings are my specialty. They're perhaps one of the most complicated-looking structures because of the feathers. However, they're really just a series of overlapping flat ovals attached to an art with fused fingers, and nothing more.
