Hey, music-types I know. Would you like to jam with dead pianists? I see a couple of Joplin's rags played by him in the first batch, for instance. There might be some similar gems in the other ones. Why have them play on naturalistic pianos, either?

Doctor Who continues to be cool (Julia brought over a copy of the second episode last night). It'll get better once the new companion's culture shock wears off; I found myself really hoping the tree-girl who was flirting with the Doctor would hop in the TARDIS at the end. Sadly, this was not to be. She was urbane, witty, and had a data-toy that talked back to her in birdsong - and there was a sort of sexual tension between her and the Doctor!

Also, this might be fun. Anyone?

Oh neat. :D

Also: you left out the secret tentacles.

I figured you'd enjoy that first link!

And yes. She was one hot rainforest. Sultry, even. But I guess they want the classic kind of Companion - someone to get chased by Daleks and whatnot.

Also one who doesn't have to sit in a makeup chair for two hours every day, I imagine!

I'm actually liking Rose. She's nervy and gets plenty of good lines - though she kind of got left out of the action this time round, sadly.

Oooh, I'm grabbing every one of those midi's... (I had a CD of the Joplin stuff transcribed from a Yamaha midi player piano but this is MUCH neater!!!)

That MIDI link is very cool! I looked through some of the files and there's lots of Rakhmaninov playing his own music, too! This makes me very excited...
How did you come across this site?

boingboing. I'm surprised they didn't suggest the 'jam with dead pianists' angle, as they're normally big cheerleaders for the whole "remix culture" thing.

That Yuri's Night thing looks interesting.

Yeah, I was thinking the Yuri's Night thing could be fun to go to.

A party celebrating the first man in space - that's so geeky, and will be full of the right kind of people. As well as lots of socially awkward people, no doubt, but there's overlap between those two sets. I just gotta figure out how to get out there!

Somehow, I don't think Rose would scream, even if locked in a room with 5 Daleks... (yes, I actually like Rose)

As far as the doomed tree lady goes, I bet ANYONE the Doctor bats an eye at is doomed to burn as well - in fact, I have a sneaky suspicion that Gallifrey is gone because of something HE did...
