It's funny - I think androgyny has been a threat to American's youth since at least the fifties. And yet we live in a hyper-polarized gender culture. It just doesn't seem to make sense; if all these girly-men and tomboys were providing such a powerful example for fifty years, wouldn't the adults of today be, like, affected?
