a(n aborted) venture
Jul. 21st, 2004 05:56 pmI think I shall now go hop on the bus: thanks to a heads-up from
inu_no_taiyo I'm going to go see Ozric Tentacles. Assuming they're not all sold out. I would've ordered a ticket via the web, but, well, no credit card, yknow? So I'll just take my chances.
Maybe I'll be out 'til I have to flee the music 'cause the busses will be stopping soon; maybe I'll be out of luck and slouch back home. We shall see.
(Knitting Factory, 8pm, Electric Skychurch is opening. And my hair's still pink, in the off chance any of you reading this decide to go as well.)
Oops. I will not be going after all. A stop at the bank beforehand to get money for a ticket clued me in that I don't have enough money for this and to pay for hormones this week. Ah well! Other acts, other tours, other times.
Watch a couple of checks come in tomorrow instead of early-next-week so I can kick myself. But my finances are hideous enough as is, right now, I don't want to take the risk. I was also a little nervous about the thought of taking the busses home late at night; people have pointed out that I should feel a little more skittish about being out alone at midnight now that I'm a woman.
I need to get a damn job.

Date: 2004-07-22 07:31 am (UTC)TMBG was predictably great last night, and yes they played Fingertips again (but no 'Stomp Box', dammit)

Date: 2004-07-22 10:34 am (UTC)And Levi-chan's psychic powers tell me that you will see Ozrics at some point in your/their lifetime. ;> 21+ years and they still exude "hey, we're just getting started!" vibes.
And, and... check your mailbox over the next few days.

Date: 2004-07-22 02:38 pm (UTC)Skittish, well, trying to be less so. *shrug*
Yeah, there'll be other tours. The lineup may change a bit but the Ozrics feel like one of those bands that lasts until a few core members die. Without sinking into endless 'greatest hits' regurgitation.
ooh, mail.

Date: 2004-07-22 10:52 am (UTC)"Comic Release"... might this be something of interest? It's free. And close (ish... Pasadena). I probably couldn't go, but mayhaps you could tell me how it was. :)
