I think I shall now go hop on the bus: thanks to a heads-up from [livejournal.com profile] inu_no_taiyo I'm going to go see Ozric Tentacles. Assuming they're not all sold out. I would've ordered a ticket via the web, but, well, no credit card, yknow? So I'll just take my chances.

Maybe I'll be out 'til I have to flee the music 'cause the busses will be stopping soon; maybe I'll be out of luck and slouch back home. We shall see.

(Knitting Factory, 8pm, Electric Skychurch is opening. And my hair's still pink, in the off chance any of you reading this decide to go as well.)

Oops. I will not be going after all. A stop at the bank beforehand to get money for a ticket clued me in that I don't have enough money for this and to pay for hormones this week. Ah well! Other acts, other tours, other times.

Watch a couple of checks come in tomorrow instead of early-next-week so I can kick myself. But my finances are hideous enough as is, right now, I don't want to take the risk. I was also a little nervous about the thought of taking the busses home late at night; people have pointed out that I should feel a little more skittish about being out alone at midnight now that I'm a woman.

I need to get a damn job.

In a better world I could've come out there and looked all grunty and intimdating for you! Going through Postrodent's recent photo scans today, I found the most redneck-Italian-looking picture of myself from 1998... I know I wouldn't have wanted to mess with his ladyfriends, even if he did look hippie enough to be perfectly at home at an Ozric Tentacles concert. :D

In a better world I'd have something to drive, too. Ah well.

I vaguely recall an old [livejournal.com profile] postrodent with you looking vaguely like Allen Ginsberg. Vaguely. ;p

*sigh* *hugs* I remember having to make that choice a lot. Bwah. If it weren't the end of the month, I'd have fronted you the money.

The thought has been in my mind that I'm going to need to pay more attention to what is around me. As if being a woman alone wouldn't be bad enough, I've been told I tend to send off prey vibes, which can't help matters any.

Not quite to the stage I need to actually think about it yet, but soon enough I hope.

wow, sorry to hear you skipped it... I was looking forward to hearing about it, as I don't think they'll be coming anywhere near here...

TMBG was predictably great last night, and yes they played Fingertips again (but no 'Stomp Box', dammit)

Yeah, I had worried about that myself... not so much the going home at midnight part, but 'lack of finances/skittish/isn't really a night owl'. Turns out I wasn't far off the mark. *sigh* There will be other times, yes.

And Levi-chan's psychic powers tell me that you will see Ozrics at some point in your/their lifetime. ;> 21+ years and they still exude "hey, we're just getting started!" vibes.

And, and... check your mailbox over the next few days.

Once upon a time I regularly was awake until 7AM. Then I started working, and that kinda changed. I still miss seeing the dawn. But this was wholly a funds thing!

Skittish, well, trying to be less so. *shrug*

Yeah, there'll be other tours. The lineup may change a bit but the Ozrics feel like one of those bands that lasts until a few core members die. Without sinking into endless 'greatest hits' regurgitation.

ooh, mail.

"Comic Release"... might this be something of interest? It's free. And close (ish... Pasadena). I probably couldn't go, but mayhaps you could tell me how it was. :)
