For those of you who want my art on shirts, have a look around Little Pagans. This is a project of [livejournal.com profile] beetiger's - shirts for the pagan/hippie/alternative toddler. With adult-size shirts available too, because even adults can enjoy, say, a shirt with a cute version of Bast on it.

There're three shirts with my art available, and a fourth as soon as I get back to LA and do the final tweaks on the image; job leads and trip packing got in the way. Maybe more if the existing ones sell well and Bee tosses me more ideas, or I come up with more and she likes 'em.

[ Addendum: since some people are guessing wrong, these are the images I did - 'We all come from the sea', 'Little bast', and 'Changeling'. There's also one 95% done image of Kali, which I think I might want for myself when I get the final in to Vicki. ]

Capsule summary of the day: Went to Jason and Jennie's 4th of July party, which involved Jason's mom, dad, and stepdad, Jennie's mother, one of Jennie's sisters (she has two) and her SO, and Jennie's brother and his SO. And of course J&J's kids. All guests had been clued in to my gender change, so there were no weird surprises. I ate a little too much and feel pudgy now.

When I went to hang out with them again after the family had left and kids had been put to bed, Jason said he was really worried for a bit, as my mother had gotten me to appear in androgynous t-shirt and jeans, fearing bad reactions from people who were much more concerned with fighting for the attention of the kids - they'd gotten me a silly birthday gift that could be seen as mocking my transition, but made me laugh. I'm now the proud owner of an impossibly pink and tinselly feather boa from the Pink Aisle at the toy store!

It's not going to become a staple of my wardrobe, but hey, I never played dress-up when I was three...

Also, New Orleans in summer is a lot sweatier than I remember. When away, I very quickly forget the hideous sensation of sweat just staying on your body because evaporation's impossible. I feel like Spam secreting its own lubricating jelly in the can...

That Bast shirt is awesome. I'd even maybe wear that if it came in black. c.c;

Augh! What a horrible mental image!
It suits Washington DC perfectly. I think I'll have to quote you on that one...

"Washington is a city of Southern efficiency and Northern charm."

(I recall hearing that the city was built on swampland that no state wanted.)

...that's strangely tempting.

It's a shame the only full-length mirror in my mom's apartment is on a hall closet...

Okay, that sight is too darn cute. Too bad my brother is now almost in his teens. It is still so awesome, though. I am going to make sure my dad knows of the sight. I'm sure he'll tell his community all about it.

The Bast shirt is excellent. Did you also do the Eye of Horus?

As far as I can tell, she did the Pixie, the Fishy, and the Bast.

Um, I did the Pixie. She did the Changling on the page called 'Baby Talk' TRES cute too, pre-empted an idea I had to do one with superior art pwnage :)

Well... 2 out of three isn't bad, right? :')

Sorry. Now you force me to study so I can tell you guys apart now...

I'm the one who never never never never uses outlines, ever, except possibly on pain of death, or making a point that "never" isn't forever.

And the one who has very stark, simple areas contrasted with a very complex, detaily point of interest.

Eee! Neat to see these finally. I may have to get the Bast one myself, of course. My parents would get a kick out of the Changeling one, I'm sure - hardly pagans, they, but when I was little they did occasionally joke that I was a changeling.

Happy birthday!

Yeah, you got to see one or two of these in progress, didn't you. I'm not precisely pagan, but... I'm probably closer to some flavor of that than I am to being some flavor of Christianity. I certainly have a better grounding in those myth-cycles than I do in the Jesus myth. And I may have to get the Kali shirt when I'm done with the art, what with me wondering if Twin is some kind of personal Kali avatar now and then.

Hmmm. Amanita in pseudo-Egyptianate drag, being paddled by Twin wielding an ankh?

All cute designs, but I think I liked "Changeling" the best. It felt the most solid, perhaps because of the body color and linework having such harmonious colors. Dunno. Cool that you're on shirts, though!

They were all done pretty rapidly. Bast had some back-and-forth because my tones were just a few notches too pastel to work with the printing process being used. I think either Bast or the 95% done Kali image is my favorite; there's just something about heiroglyphics spelling out "MYW".

It's for babies. Cute goes with babies. even if it's slightly creepy cute like I do.

Another year survived, somehow...
