I'm sitting here looking at Absinthe and thinking about the speed it's happening at, the amount of work that goes into each panel, and the ways I'm intending to challenge myself in future chapters once the action has shifted out of the incredibly dense caltropolis of Wormwood.

And I keep on thinking that I am never going to do another comic as ambitious as this one. Oh, there will be other comics, but they will be done under tighter visual constraints, they will not be as visually dense as this has become.

Then I remember that this was supposed to be a quick and easy project... and I know that there will be future projects as insanely detailed as this one. I just hope I'll manage to do some less-intense ones as well, that can come out on a tighter schedule!

(current status: 12/32 pages of chapter 1 complete; one more may get completed today. And I'm running out of pencilled pages, I need to do the studio cleanup I keep putting off so I have room to draw more.)

Also, while I'm procrastinating, I got a question for those of you who make comics on the web. Those lists of webcomics that determine rank by votes... do they get you enough traffic to be worth haranguing your readers to vote for you?
