today's excuse

Things done today:

• a fair amount of the work on the King of Swords
• a phone interview with the Boston Spirit, a free queer-culture paper
• boyfriend maintenance: helped Rik give his brain a good excuse to reset itself by dragging him out for ice cream

I was hoping to get the KoS out today but I don't think it's happening. I had a decent groove for part of the morning but the other two things interrupted that and I just couldn't get it back; both were well worth the interruption. It's at the stage where I know I'll get it done tomorrow.

If I can get it done tomorrow and stare down the sketch for the High Priest and decide what's still bugging me about it, then life will be most awesome. Who knows? Maybe I'll even fiddle with the Querent (one of my extras), like I did a couple days ago on my last between-cards day.

Sooo close to being able to take a real break from drawing. It'll mostly be to deal with getting things together for the framing, at first - but it'll be a break. And then I can draw other things again.
