I've seen some of my friends who do cons more than I do experimenting with some interesting stuff to sell their art on - keychains, magnets, bookmarks are pretty standard, there's a few other things people play with.

Here's a funky thought: Rubik's Cubes. The blank cubes are $10 if you get the Official Rubik Product, maybe a lot less if you can find cheap cubes and rip off the stickers. Plus five bucks for enough sticker sheets for ten cubes. I figure there's a lot of room to play with for pricing your art and labor.

Or you could experiment with just painting on a naked cube for a one-of-a-kind object; I dunno how that'd hold up to actual use, though.

Also speed-solving methods - because I only ever learnt to solve it the 'obvious' way of doing the top face then working down. And have since forgotten several crucial late-stage steps.

Edit: Also, let me remind those of you preparing for AC or other upcoming cons of this little trick I worked out: when taking sketchbooks, ask for the person's cel number, and text them when you're done. There's no guarantee they'll hear it in the chaos of the con, but it seemed to work damn well when I did it.
