egypturnash: (art noveau)
Yesterday: Played around with various Django tutorials. Woke up late at night with a head full of phlegm and the basic structure of how to implement my website needs in Django. Didn't write any of it down.

Today: Knocked out a quick background for AG. Haunted house halloween kinds of things. Felt vaguely typecast. Finally checked and realized my host doesn't have mod_python installed which kinda means playing with Django will go nowhere. Drat. Rebuilding my website in Django over the course of a week would've been cool. Had phone conversation regarding doing the header illustration for the monthly newsletter of a social networking/art hybrid site. This month's theme? Fashion. Felt, again, vaguely typecast.

But hey, typecast is okay as long as it happens quickly and brings in money.

One of these days I need to organize my thoughts on Noveau/Deco: cutting-edge and fashionable at the turn of the last century, cutting-edge and fashionable about a hundred years later. Will it fade into tacky in a few decades, and come back again around 2900? I won't be surprised at all if it does. What about this pair of looks is so evergreen? Why does it constantly read as 'stylish' no matter how old it is?

My head's still full of phlegm. My plans to make ice cream tonight will, no doubt, not help this issue.
