For those of you who want my art on shirts, have a look around Little Pagans. This is a project of
beetiger's - shirts for the pagan/hippie/alternative toddler. With adult-size shirts available too, because even adults can enjoy, say, a shirt with a cute version of Bast on it.
There're three shirts with my art available, and a fourth as soon as I get back to LA and do the final tweaks on the image; job leads and trip packing got in the way. Maybe more if the existing ones sell well and Bee tosses me more ideas, or I come up with more and she likes 'em.
[ Addendum: since some people are guessing wrong, these are the images I did - 'We all come from the sea', 'Little bast', and 'Changeling'. There's also one 95% done image of Kali, which I think I might want for myself when I get the final in to Vicki. ]
Capsule summary of the day: Went to Jason and Jennie's 4th of July party, which involved Jason's mom, dad, and stepdad, Jennie's mother, one of Jennie's sisters (she has two) and her SO, and Jennie's brother and his SO. And of course J&J's kids. All guests had been clued in to my gender change, so there were no weird surprises. I ate a little too much and feel pudgy now.
When I went to hang out with them again after the family had left and kids had been put to bed, Jason said he was really worried for a bit, as my mother had gotten me to appear in androgynous t-shirt and jeans, fearing bad reactions from people who were much more concerned with fighting for the attention of the kids - they'd gotten me a silly birthday gift that could be seen as mocking my transition, but made me laugh. I'm now the proud owner of an impossibly pink and tinselly feather boa from the Pink Aisle at the toy store!
It's not going to become a staple of my wardrobe, but hey, I never played dress-up when I was three...
Also, New Orleans in summer is a lot sweatier than I remember. When away, I very quickly forget the hideous sensation of sweat just staying on your body because evaporation's impossible. I feel like Spam secreting its own lubricating jelly in the can...
