Done packing. Checked everything off. I'm going to be woozy tomorrow.
It's that time of year again. When I go spend half the day on an airplane and in an airport, then a few days blowing my nose a lot, and then do the airplane thing again. My birthday.
This will be the first one where my mother expects to be picking up her daughter at the airport, not her son. I'd come out to her near the beginning of my visit last year, and I've been endlessly surprised at how well she's handled it. She's been very supportive despite her initial shock and confusion.
I'll probably still check LJ and email and such while home, but don't expect any serious discussion, or real-time online conversation, until I've come back to LA late Wednesday night. Time to shut off the computer now, and get about, um, four hours of sleep. sigh - got to allow time for the bus ride, and for weird things at the airport, and of course showering. I don't anticipate any gender weirdness at the Burbank airport; being domestic-only they're not very high-security. If I do have any hassle about having a ticket for "Paul" when I'm clearly not dressing or looking like someone who should have a male name, I'll just casually admit to being trans, and offer to prove that what's beneath my dress matches the 'M' on my ID. Yeah, I could just go in semi-androgynous jeans and t-shirt, but I don't think I pass as male any more in that, and I'm going to have to test this sort of thing soon anyway.
To bed. Have a good weekend, whatever you're doing.
