Last night, as I was going home, it was cloudy. A little later, it was raining, complete with far-off lightning. I sat in the living room with the balcony door open, listening to the rain. Unfortunately, this also meant I was listening to over-loud neighboring TVs and screeching children. But I got to hear the quiet shussshhhhh of the occasional car passing by. Which, to me, is a nostalgic sound. Lying in bed, not wanting to get up, listening to the rain and the cars passing by... Living in Southern California has driven me to miss rain.

The stats seem to vary depending on who's attacking - in the one I put up there, I win.

I too like the sounds of rain, and our home has a tin-roof patio covering that sounds wonderful during a rainstorm. I heard the same rain you did last night, and it was great to listen to the tinny hissss off the patio...
