You mean he did something before coming up with the perfect composition to play while the origins of a glowing blue naked man were up on the big screen?
There's probably more education in that clip than a whole show of numbers and letters. It's a quite sophisticated geometry lesson. Sure, the amount of it kids will grasp will vary, but most will absorb something.
That was one of my favorite Sesame Street clips as a child, and I don't believe I had seen it since then. I am absolutely thrilled to know that, somewhere in the background, Philip Glass was already in my consciousness.
I found this on YouTube a while back, and was thrilled. I remember this giving me chills when I saw it actually during Sesame Street. I'm even more thrilled now that I'm older to discover that it was Philip Glass.
The minimalistic tones go really well with the simple geometric shapes and colors, and it still makes me shiver.
