Doodles from here and there.

A bunch of them are random concept fiddling for future costumes. I don't know if any of them will ever happen.

There are a few vague ideas for making the snake-tail slither while I walk.

I don't think this one is anything in particular, but I like it. It will probably just befuddle people at a furry con: "what are you supposed to be?" "Something weird and pretty."

Same here, but moreso!

Inspired by something [livejournal.com profile] postvixen wrote the other day.

I don't know what's going on here. It just happened.

The last one looks vaguely Zim-like.

Oh, is that that superhero online game everyone was addicted to until the pastel elf online game came out? I don't have a Windows machine, and I don't play pay online games... so, no.

The face on the last one makes me think of Deuce from Jerkcity (http://www.jerkcity.com).

The pose of that one on the right makes me think of a vague costume idea I had a long time ago, which is to hide your real legs in a train or very long hair or something like that, and add fake mannequin legs sticking out in front, for the illusion that you're floating around unsupported.

Sweet idea. Better yet if you rig something in the fake legs so that the feet waggle.

So, an idear I got from looking at the slithertail costume designs...

Could you link the tail to strips of fabric or string, say, stitched into the hemline of the tail, and link those strings to opposing ankles? Maybe that way the tail would curl left when you took a right step, and vice versa. Mebbe?

Also, on a completely unrelated note, if you take the central design of that first batch and treat the left nipple as an eye, you get Limbless Fetish Bird! Woot! (Honest, that was the split-second impression cuz...well, I guess cuz I'm a nut.)

Of everything, I love the "Something weird and pretty" outfit best. It's like a 23rd century Insect Nun outfit! Made with the right materials, I think it'd be both elegant AND pretty.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly the plan for making the tail slithery! Flat plastic scutes (maybe with wheels), hinged along the middle line, with cords running down the edges to kinda hopefully make it flex. We were kicking around having the cords attatched to sandals I could kick off to be able to coil it up, too...

I like either the 'weird and pretty' one or 'miss doesn't fit through doors'. Neither would quite fit at a furry con, which is really all the congoing I do nowadays, but they'd be cool nonetheless. And a hell of a lot less complex than the serpent...

"Neither would quite fit at a furry con"

Don't let that stop you! I've seen Klingons, Stormtroopers, even Spider-Man... That's one of the fun things about furry cons. You can go off-topic!

Aha! Must have caught the vibe imbedded in the picture, clearly. ;) I love the idea of it being able to coil, too; that'd be a neat surprise to spring on people.

Maybe the weird n pretty costume would be appropo for Mard Gras? Or Halloween? Or Gay Pride? Seems like that outfit (mebbe both) would fit a few possible non-con venues.
