excursions and invitations

...maybe I'd better rewind some here for my audience.
Somewhere near the beginning of the year, Nick threw me an ad he'd torn from the Weekly Dig. A new gallery in town was looking for artists; he thought I should send them some of my stuff. I did; they were intrigued. Last week I went there to discuss show possibilities with the woman who runs the place. We're still nailing down the particulars but it's looking like I'm going to have a solo show of my Tarot deck for most of September, with the opening at the end of August. More news on that as it gets hammered out.
Anyway, the meeting in which this was tentatively decided wasn't just me; it was me and two other artists on the way to showing some stuff here. One of them is a sculptor, working in assorted junk metal. Who lives a mere five or so blocks up the street from me, on the other side of the hill.
And one of his other projects? An absurdist bicycle gang, which I've seen bopping down the street from my studio window when it's warm. Strange bikes with flashy lights and radios, that make me smile.
Tonight, the gallery director was going to go check out some of his larger pieces; I was invited along too. What he had on his website had made me curious and it was well worth seeing. He mentioned that the bike gang is going to start rolling in a couple weeks, and invited me along. I think I might.
