Me and the boyfriends and Alicia and Rob (who is visiting this weekend) went up a mountain trail today. Well, yesterday, since I'm writing this after waking up at 2:something in the morning and not getting back to sleep yet. I haven't been up on top of a chunk of rock since before I left California; it was good to do that again. It was a very different experience going up this hump of dirt with glacier droppings all through it than going up a ridge of continental plates colliding; the rocks really show their different histories. Lots of smoothed-down shapes alternating with jumbled jagged places.
Afterwards, there was MEAT, video, and accidentally making Alicia late for a housewarming she'd planned to go to in the evening. Oops.
I was figuring my thighs would be killing me tomorrow but so far there isn't anything. They ached a little during the climb and after the descent down a slope steep and constant enough to be skied down in the winter, but feel fine now. I guess I'm in better shape than I thought.
Looks like I'm adding another paid piece to my to-do list for the coming week, too. Intro animation for a website. Money's always good but I was really hoping to collapse into some time on Absinthe! Well, next week. There'll be a drought of paid stuff again sooner or later, and I can start cranking on the comic and the other stuff in my to-do list. Juggling work and personal projects is something I'm still figuring out. Getting better at it, slowly.
