free screencast making on osx (I'm not in the mood to play with this right now, what with sitting at a café across a table from Nick.) Couple this with Mouseposé to show the keystrokes and the mouse clicks; add in audio afterwards with other tools (flash 8 editor) and pow!

It's "free" as in "I don't have to pay out any more money for this toolchain", not as in, um, whatever ESR would approve of.

And this last one was doodled today while in a café. I'd been working on finishing my slightly-late Christmas gift to my mom - custom bookplates - while Nick typed away on some stuff. I finished up and he was still going, so to kill time I went off on some thoughts generated by my earlier idle web browsing of stuff about some folks setting up to do custom laser engraving of your pricey gadgets: what would I want to put on my Powerbook, named "Cobweb"? Not that I'm likely to have $100 to throw away like that any time soon.

I've been drawing a lot of plastic spider girls lately. I've been kinda alien and spidery, I guess.

Also some experimentation leads me to suspect that my machine ain't fast enough to do a screengrab movie of me working. If I had a VCR handy I'd fool around with that...
