Jul. 13th, 2006 01:07 pmIt's time to go legit with my transition.
It's nearly three years since I first started hormones. I have what seems to be a stable freelance gig, and a fairly queer-friendly city. I'm tired of getting my hormones through grey-market Internet sources that run the risk of having them seized at the border; I'd like to actually see an endocrinologist and get a serious handle on what my various levels are.
I'm paying off my debts in fits and starts, I'm doing okay financially. I can finally afford to do this "the right way". I'm not sure I ever could have, when I was a depressed boy - I'm glad I didn't wait until I could. It's just, ugh, now I have to go find Boston-area queer resources, learn what the opinions are on various practitioners in the area, make appointments, pay for tests... there's so much process to do, and I have no energy on this grey day.
