travel plans
Dec. 15th, 2005 01:48 pmHmm. I'm looking at dates and buying a ticket to visit home in January. "Hey, I should schedule FC as well," I think to myself.
And I realize that while it doesn't overlap, it's damn close. I'm going to New Orleans on the 4th and coming back on the 12th. And FC is the 19th to the 23rd. That's a week between, true, but it's a lot of travel in short order. I don't have a room set up, I haven't hunted around for a friendly couch to crash on for a day or two before and after and possibly through the con (I can probably find some space on a hotel room floor once I'm there), prices around that weekend are higher... I gotta think about it, I guess. Figure out how much money I have coming from AG and if I can afford it after my share of the rent.
But at least the option's open since I'm getting my tickets home just far enough in advance that the cusp of the prices is right during FC. I promised my mother I'd be home early January to help her deal with all of the stuff of mine that's been lingering in her apartment for years, that she no longer has room for now that she's in a smaller place.
if I do go, I don't think I'll be doing any costuming. Time money equipment ideas are all lacking. I'll just dress like a crazy woman, as is the default.
(ps. Thanks for the travel site pointers last week, folks. JetBlue is the winner, with a round trip slightly under $200, and no red-eye flights required.)
